About the Book

Gulliver's Travels (1726) is Jonathan Swift's satirical novel following Lemuel Gulliver, an English ship's surgeon, across four extraordinary voyages to fantastical lands. In the first, he's shipwrecked among the tiny inhabitants of Lilliput, where he navigates the absurdities and petty politics of a miniature society. In the second, he finds himself the miniature one, dwarfed by the giants of Brobdingnag, offering a very different perspective on human nature and society.

Author Biography

Jonathan Swift was an Anglo-Irish satirist, essayist, and poet, known for his keen wit and critical prose. Born in 1667, Swift is best remembered for his satirical work 'Gulliver’s Travels' (1726), which critiques the political and social issues of his time. His writing has left a lasting impact on English literature.
